North Bay inventor and Project Grizzly star Troy Hurtubise will stage tests next month of the magnetic blast cushion, his newest invention.
North Bay inventor and Project Grizzly star Troy Hurtubise will stage tests next month of the magnetic blast cushion, his newest invention.

Hurtubise says the cushions, which include technology from his Ursus Mark-VII bear suit, will save the lives of soldiers in Afghanistan and Iraq because they can protect military jeeps and Humvees against bullets, rocket-propelled grenades and land mines.

He's planning on building and shipping free of charge 500 of the cushions, which magnetically attach to the sides, tops and bottoms of vehicles, to Canadian soldiers in Afghanistan and a unit of American soldiers in Iraq.

BayToday.ca will have more on this story later today.
