Police investigating overnight stabbing incident

The North Bay Police Service is looking for the public's help in connection to an incident in the O'Brien Street area in the north end of North Bay. 

One witness told BayToday early Friday morning that one individual was stabbed. 

Police confirmed this morning that an incident did take place.

"The North Bay Police Service is conducting an investigation into an incident that occurred in the area of O'Brien Street, Lansdowne Avenue, Highland Road, and Ramsey Street at approximately 2 a.m. this morning, August 16, 2024," stated David Woolley, corporate communications officer with the North Bay Police Service. 

Woolley says they believe it was a targeted incident and there is no threat to public safety.

"In order to protect the integrity of this investigation, we cannot release additional details at this time," Wooley continued. 

"If anyone has information about this incident, including security camera or dash cam footage from the area around the time of the occurrence, we ask that they provide it to the North Bay Police Service by calling 705-497-5555.
