Nipissing West OPP say they intercepted Fentanyl yesterday, they believe was headed for drug users in their area.
On September 2, at 6:10 p.m., as a result of a drug investigation, members from the North East Region Community Street Crime Unit stopped a vehicle on Highway 17 in Hagar.
Officers seized a quantity of drugs suspected to be Fentanyl. The street value of the drugs is approximately $7,520.
Police believe the drugs were destined for the West Nipissing area.
As a result of the investigation, two people from Dokis First Nation were arrested.
Dennis Dokis, 63, is charged with "Possession of a Schedule 1 substance for the purpose of trafficking - opioid.
Dokis was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court on October 14, in Sudbury.
Brian Lariviere, 26, is charged with:
- Possession of a Schedule 1 Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking - opioid
- Fail to comply with a probation order
- Two counts of driving while under suspension
Lariviere was scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice - Bail Court today in Sudbury.
