Police Emergency Response Team training in city

The North Bay Police ERT officers are in training.

Don't be alarmed if you see an enhanced police presence in areas of North Bay today and tomorrow.

The North Bay Police Service says that there will be Emergency Response Team training at various locations throughout the city.

Members of the North Bay Police Service’s Emergency Response Team will be conducting training exercises at E.W. Norman Public School on Lake Heights Road, the Martin Leo Troy Armoury on Chippewa Street and in other areas of the city. Members may be observed wearing tactical gear during training exercises.

Drones may be deployed as part of the training.

Training is not expected to result in the closure of any streets or the disruption of daily activities for members of the public.

The North Bay Police Service’s Emergency Response Team utilizes specialized skills, tactics, and equipment to protect public safety and respond to unpredictable situations. Members of the North Bay Police Service ERT receive regular training to effectively respond to all manner of high-risk incidents.
