The GEND-2326 Pets class at Nipissing University is holding the “Paws for Cause Pet Food/Fund Drive,” starting Sunday. with a dog walk.
"It's a community initiative to support local animal rescues and help pets in need," says a news release. "This event aims to make a meaningful impact by gathering essential supplies and donations for Shady Acres Feral Cat Rescue and All Heart Pet Rescue.
The Community Dog Walk on Sunday starts at noon at Nipissing University's main entrance. Bring your dog, meet other pet lovers, and make a donation to participate. For every donation, participants will receive three raffle tickets. Additional tickets can be purchased at $2 each for a chance to win prizes.
A trivia night is scheduled for Thursday, November 21.
Donation Items Needed:
The Paws for Cause team is looking for donations of the following items to support rescued pets:
• Pet Food: Cat food (adult and kitten), such as Purina Indoor, Friskies, Fancy Feast; Dog food (chicken and salmon based)
• Liver-based Dog Treats
• Pet Accessories: Leashes, bowls, collars, nail clippers, harnesses
• Pet Toys: Hard plastic bones, kong toys, cat toys, rodent toys
• Large Pee Pads
• Cleaning Supplies: Bleach, comet spray, Lysol, Mr. Clean, Feliway
hormone diffusers
• Carriers: All sizes welcome
• Monetary Donations: Cash or e-transfers are also appreciated.

Please bring a donation to any of the events or any of our bins we have located in: Giant Tiger Lakeshore, Nipissing University front foyer, Foodland Callander, Lisa’s Doghouse, and Northgate Shopping Centre.
