Nipissing MPP Vic Fedeli is announcing an increase of $8,942,311 in base funding for the North Bay Regional Health Centre. This is a permanent increase in funding to relieve the hospital’s financial pressures. In addition, the government is investing $3,847,570 in one-time funding for in-year pressures.

“Even with our government’s record investments in healthcare, we’ve heard the financial concerns raised by the North Bay Regional Health Centre and are responding with a $12.8-million investment to ensure the hospital has the tools needed to continue providing high-quality care, now and in the future,” says Fedeli.

NBRHC provides acute care services to North Bay and its surrounding communities, serves as the district referral centre, provides specialist services for smaller communities in the area, and also delivers specialized mental health services for all of northeast Ontario.

“We are pleased with the permanent and one-time funds to support the sustainability of our workforce and strengthen our financial position. I am looking forward to continuing to work with MPP Fedeli and the province to relieve the pressures facing our health care system,” says North Bay Regional Health Centre President and CEO Paul Heinrich.
