Wrestling returns Saturday, Callander, and this one’s on the house.
That’s right, on March 8, Ontario Elite Wrestling is hosting an epic event at the Callander Community Centre, at 1894 Swale Street. It’s free for all, although for $10 you can secure a VIP ticket, which gets you early entrance, a chance to meet the wrestlers, and a seat close to the ring – first or second row.
Organizers are calling this event “Electrified,” and the idea was to give back to the fans and thank them for their support.

Steve Lavictoire, the founder of Ontario Elite Wrestling, told BayToday, “Along with our sponsors, we wanted to give back to the community for all of the support they gave us last year. And on top of that, with everything that’s going on right now in the world, and especially here at home in Canada, things are getting tough, some people can’t afford groceries, so going out and having time with your family is kind of off the table unless it’s going to a park.”
Lavictoire continued, “So the free show was something that we wanted to do, an event we’re hoping people can come to and kind of forget about reality for a while and have a great time.”
Back to those groceries, you’re also welcome to bring a donation to the Callander Food Bank to the show. However, you can still get in for free without a donation. Not having an extra can of corn is not going to prevent you from getting electric come Saturday.
It’s going to be an action-packed night of wrestling, with fan favourite Vinnie DaVinci in the house, and many other Ontario Elite Wrestling stars. Plus, there will be some members of Pro Wrestling Magic (PWM) stopping by as well.
PWM’s Jr. Heavyweight Champion Troy Locke has sent an open challenge to anyone in Ontario to challenge him for his title, which is bound to get the electricity flowing. Also turning up the voltage is PWM Heavyweight Champion Alex “Revolver” Reiman, who will be defending his title in the Main Event against “Lights Off” Steve Off.
The show is Saturday evening, with doors opening at 6:30 p.m., although VIP access begins at 6 p.m. All are welcome, and it makes a great night out with the kids. VIP tickets can be purchased online through Tickets Candy.
