Wrestling returns to Callander this Saturday, July 6th, with a twist – the action takes place in the Bill Barber Complex, right behind Callander’s Community Centre at 1984 Swale St. It’s an outdoor show, with the added advantage of being well-protected by the rink’s large roof.
“A lot of people avoid hosting outdoor shows because they can be a challenge with the weather,” noted Steve Lavictoire, Ontario Elite Wrestling founder, “but we’ll be under that monster roof so the weather won’t be an issue.”
The show is called Bash at the Bay 2, and organizers promise it will be “bigger, badder, and better,” than ever, so the talent is ready to rumble, Lavictoire assured. There are about 20 wrestlers on the roster, including Vinnie DaVinci, Troy Locke, Jeremy Prophet, Jessica Black, and many others.

“We’ve got wrestlers from the States, guys coming from Quebec, from Manitoba,” and throughout the province, Lavictoire noted, and you’ll get to catch every round up close and personal.
Not only that but for this event – the third to come to Callander – organizers are introducing a new feature, a huge screen that will broadcast the matches unfolding before you, designed to ensure wrestling fans don’t miss any of the action. The screen has been dubbed the BehemothTron, so prepare for the spectacle.
“It’s going to be a sight to see,” Lavictoire said of the 20-foot screen.
He also noted that there are events scheduled for the entire day, beginning with the Callander Summer Market which runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. A Summer Sizzler dance is also taking place at 9:30 p.m.
The wrestling begins at 6 p.m., with doors opening at 5:30 p.m. and 5 p.m. for VIP ticket holders.
Tickets for Bash at the Bay 2 cost $20 in advance and $25 at the door. Kids under five are free, and VIP passes can be had for $30. Your tickets also give you entry to the Summer Sizzler, which can also be purchased separately for $10 in advance or $15 at the door.
Advance tickets can be purchased at the Beef ‘n’ Brand at 260 Pinewood Park Rd. in North Bay, or from the Split Tankard at 1111 Cassells St., North Bay.
