Northeastern Antique, Collectibles & Nostalgia Show on Sunday

“We want people to gain an appreciation for our heritage here in North Bay and in fact, for Canada’s history and its heritage in general."

Althought the North Bay Legion Antique Show has come to an end (due to Branch 23’s sale last year), Alexander and his partner, Jeff Fournier, have stepped in to fill the void.

“We didn’t want to see North Bay without a collectible show since both Bill and I are avid collectors and history buffs. We’re really trying to promote local history and an appreciation for vintage and historical items,” says Fournier.

The duo have announced that The Northeastern Antique, Collectibles & Nostalgia Show will donate net profits from the Show to the Discovery North Bay Museum.

“We want people to gain an appreciation for our heritage here in North Bay and in fact, for Canada’s history and its heritage in general. We are pleased to help the museum to continue their work on archival material and local historical research,” says Fournier.

“We also have something very special for kids who come to the show. They can bring in a regular quarter or loonie and exchange it, free of charge, for a commemorative quarter or nickel dollar coin from the 70’s or 80’s,” added Fournier.

“This is an event for collectors and curious people,” says Bill Alexander, one of the organizers of Northern Ontario’s only show of its kind. “You will discover all kinds of treasures at the show. We will have 60 tables and we guarantee that there will be something for everyone,” added Alexander.

Northern Ontario Collectors are invited to attend the Northeastern Antiques, Collectibles & Nostalgia Show, being held at the North Bay Elks Club (325 Elks Lane, North Bay) on Sunday, April 17 from 10 am to 4 pm. The show is for collectors of small antiques, coins, stamps, militaria, automobile, paper and vintage collectibles, toys, comics, tokens, medals, jewellry and other nostalgic items.

Admission is $5 but is free for kids 12 and under.
