It looks like the mayoral race is now a four-man race as candidate Mike Guillemette has decided to step away.
“As a result of unforeseen personal and family matters, it is with a heavy heart that I must announce my withdrawal from the mayoral race for North Bay,” stated Guillemette in a release today.
“I wish all the candidates a good campaign and ask the citizens of North Bay to focus on positive, sustainable change for the future of North Bay rather than focus their energy on the past.”
Guillemette says he believes in North Bay and feels it can “be more, do more, and expect more, and as a result achieve a lot more.”

Guillemette, who announced his mayoral intentions on July 27th, was born and raised in northern Ontario and has lived and worked in North Bay and area for over 20 years.
“I would like to thank those that have shown their support over the past few weeks: it puts into real terms that I was taking the right direction.”
If a candidate wishes to withdraw completely, the candidate must file a written withdrawal of their candidacy, by no later than 2 p.m. on July 27.
City Clerk Karen McIssac was unavailable to comment on whether Guillemette's name will remain on the ballot, since the deadline has passed.
