North Bay driver charged in Highway 17 rollover

One person was arrested and charged after police responded to a single motor vehicle collision.

On September 16, 2024, at approximately 10:45 p.m., the Nipissing West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) responded to a single motor vehicle rollover on Highway 17 in West Nipissing.

The lone driver received minor injuries and was transported to the local hospital by EMS.

A search of the vehicle located open alcohol and cannabis.

As a result of the investigation, Gabrielle Labreche-Kalnins, 22, from North Bay was arrested and charged with operation while impaired - alcohol and having both liquor and cannabis readily available in the vehicle.

The accused was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on November 7, 2024, in North Bay.

The driver was issued a 90-day Administrative Driver's Licence Suspension and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
