A number of activities will take place in North Bay to celebrate Mining week in the city.
The mining sector is considered a significant contributor to North Bay’s economy with more than 65 companies in the city that support the mining industry. The event will run from May 14 to May 18 and activities will take place throughout the city
The event organizers hope to use the Mining Week format to inform the community about the many opportunities in mining and to highlight how international and innovative local mining groups are.
“The Mining Week Committee wants to thank all of the volunteers, mining companies and community partners for their support, which has helped grow North Bay Mining Week into the success that it is," said Rachel Cranford, North Bay Mining Week Chair in a release.
"We invite the community to come out and enjoy all of our events!”
Events included next week are a luncheon, Trivia Night and a Murder Mystery Dinner.
“On behalf of the CIM, we look forward to working with other professional organizations during mining week to bring awareness to our community,” said Thomas Rannelli, Chair of the Canadian Institute for Mining, Metallurgy, and Petroleum (CIM Northern Gateway Branch).
