North Bay and Area Community Foundation announces annual grants

'Our Annual Community Grants Program aims at providing much-needed support to a wide range of local charitable organizations. We are honoured to announce that through our latest round of grants, we have been able to provide over $173,000 in support of 25 projects'

The North Bay and Area Community Foundation (NBACF) has announced $173,193 in grants to 25 local organizations.

Since providing its first grants in 2010, the NBACF has used its Annual Community Grants Program to support our charities and create an impact in our community. The Foundation is committed to serving as a reliable funding resource for local charitable organizations in need. It is always seeking dedicated, community-minded individuals to be part of their Grants Committee.

This year’s Community Grants were made possible through the following funds, all of which are held by the North Bay and Area Community Foundation.

  • Bob and Carol Wood Fund for Alzheimer’s Care
  • Cunningham Community Fund
  • Jack Burrows Fund
  • Limina Family Classroom and Culture Fund
  • Mark Rogers Memorial Fund
  • Neil and Katherine Kennedy Brick and Mortar Fund
  • Smart and Caring Communities Fund
  • Stephen Cerisano Fund
  • Thomson Children’s Foundation Fund
  • Thomson Family Foundation Fund
  • Winrow Family Fund

NBACF Executive Director Madysin Carrier said, “Our Annual Community Grants Program aims at providing much-needed support to a wide range of local charitable organizations. We are honoured to announce that through our latest round of grants, we have been able to provide over $173,000 in support of 25 projects. None of this would be possible without the support of so many generous donors, fundholders, and sponsors in our community. Thank you, and thank you to our recipients who are working so hard each day to make the projects we support possible.”

Funding will support expenses such as essentials for children to attend school through the work of Packsac Smiles, emergency food supports through the work of the Gathering Place and various local churches, and so much more. Below is a full list of grant recipients:
