North Bay is set to glow with vibrant enthusiasm as students don their signature bright yellow shirts once again.
On Saturday, September 2, hundreds of students will disperse across eight different locations, to raise both funds and awareness for Cystic Fibrosis Canada. This initiative, organized by the Nipissing University Student Union (NUSU), marks over three decades of supporting this cause for North Bay.
"Shine Day has evolved into an eagerly anticipated tradition during our annual orientation," said Harikesh Panchal, NUSU's VP Advocacy & Awareness." Decked out in neon apparel, we collaborate in teams, forging connections with remarkable community members, all while championing the Cystic Fibrosis fundraising endeavour."
Cystic Fibrosis (CF) stands as the most prevalent fatal genetic ailment impacting Canadian youngsters and young adults. In Canada, an estimated one in every 3,600 newborns grapples with CF.
The goal this year is $10,000 in contributions. Cleaning starts at 10 a.m.
"To date, our cumulative contributions for CF have surpassed $480,000, and we are eager to propel this figure even higher during the forthcoming weekend," added Panchal.
