New season begins at Callander’s Alex Dufresne Gallery

A new exhibit by the North Bay Art Association opens Saturday, January 20th

The Alex Dufresne Gallery in Callander is opening its 2024 season with a new exhibit from the North Bay Art Association. Entitled “Visual Stories from the North Bay Art Association,” the show highlights many works from the group – which has been creating art since 1937.

“We are made up of stories,” noted Natasha Wiatr, Gallery Curator, in a recent release, “and creating artwork can be a visual tool to communicate these stores in a graphic manner.” The works in the new exhibit, she added, “are an exploration of the stories within us.”

Artists will attend the opening this Saturday, and admission is free. All are welcome to stop by.

The gallery is in the same building as the Callander Bay Heritage Museum at 107 Lansdowne Street. Admission to the museum will also be free. The exhibit launches on Saturday, January 20th from 2 to 4 p.m.

The show will remain on display until February 24th.
