New rail chief at ONTC

The rail division ships over 27,000 carloads of freight each year for businesses in the region.

Ontario Northland has a new Vice President of Rail...Grant Bailey

A news release states Bailey "has significant experience in rail operations, maintenance and management, having worked 37 years in the freight, passenger and light rail transit industries. He has held positions with Canadian National Railway, RailAmerica and Ontario Northland. Most recently he has worked with SNC-Lavalin and been involved in the design, construction, operation and maintenance of light rail transit systems in both Vancouver and Ottawa."

 As Vice President of Rail, Bailey will be "responsible for strengthening operations by providing leadership, developing effective and innovative strategies for continuous improvement, collaborating with communities, and ensuring the highest standards for safety and compliance. He will serve as a key member of the leadership team, and will shape company policy, provide valuable advice to the Ontario Northland Transportation Commission, and work with many levels of government."

He replaces John Thib, who retired in early February
