TORONTO - It's official! Three Canadian hockey fans who entered the Pepsi, Lay's, Gatorade Bring Home the Stanley Cup contest are one step closer to winning the ultimate hockey fan prize - the Stanley Cup delivered to their home by former Stanley Cup champion, Mark Messier.

From the many Canadians who entered the Bring Home the Stanley Cup contest, the three finalists were selected for their clear demonstration of their NHL playoff-watching rituals and their passion for the game.

The three finalists are (in alphabetical order):

- Joel Belanger of New Liskeard, Ontario.

- Adam Bourque of Summerside, PEI.

- Dean McCord of Calgary, Alberta.

The Pepsi, Lay's and Gatorade brands together with CBC's Hockey Night in Canada, the National Hockey League (NHL) and the National Hockey League Players' Association (NHLPA) launched the contest to give hockey fans across Canada the opportunity to celebrate the greatest hockey ritual of all - the opportunity to bring home the Stanley Cup.

From now until May 9, 2008, Canadians can vote for their favourite finalist by visiting www.cbc.ca/bringhomethecup .

The finalist with the most votes at the end of the voting period will be eligible to win the ultimate hockey fan prize, including:

- The Ultimate Hockey Playoff Party for the winner and 19 of their closest friends and family with plenty of Pepsi and Gatorade refreshments and Lay's snacks.

- A special visit from six-time Stanley Cup champion, Mark Messier, who will personally deliver the official Stanley Cup to the winner's home during the playoff party!

- The opportunity to appear on TV when selected captions of the party are broadcasted during this year's Stanley Cup Playoffs on CBC's Hockey Night in Canada during the week of June 8.

The Pepsi, Lay's, Gatorade Bring Home the Stanley Cup contest winner will be announced on CBC's Hockey Night in Canada on Saturday, May 10, 2008.

"There were many impressive entries for the Bring Home the Stanley Cup contest and I'm really excited to deliver hockey's most celebrated trophy, the Stanley Cup, to the winner," said Mark Messier, former Stanley Cup champion.

"Hockey is such an important part of our Canadian culture and it was fun to watch the videos and see the NHL Playoff-watching rituals of fans from across the country. Last year's party was a blast and I can't wait to celebrate with this year's winner and their friends and family!"
