The progress continues for Canadore College's new indoor sports facility project as the dome over the field was raised on Tuesday.
"The Sports Dome at our Commerce Court Campus is officially being raised today," Canadore stated via social media.
"More than 50 dedicated Canadore employees are working together to lift and secure the dome material. By week's end, the structure will be fully in place."
The Canadore College Sports Dome is described as "a facility designed to boost academic programs while providing a versatile space for sports and community events."
Canadore has stated the facility will be used by the College but will be available to the public.
"Canadore is dedicated to enhancing and investing in the health and wellness of our students and community, providing a year-round venue for sports, fitness, and recreation," the release continued.

Back in late May, Canadore stated the concrete had been poured and the turf field had been put in place for the project that had faced delays.
The initial announcement for the 85,000-square-foot dome was made in June 2022.
The project, built behind the Canadore College Commerce Court Campus in North Bay is expected to be completed by the fall of 2024.
