UPDATED: Motorcycle accident shuts down Lakeshore Drive

Motorcyclist rushed to hospital after crash.

UPDATE:

North Bay police, fire and ambulance were dispatched to the scene of a motor vehicle collision involving a motorcycle and a van on Lakeshore Drive at Marshall Avenue following multiple calls to 911 at 5:17 p.m. on Wednesday, September 14, 2016.

Lakeshore Drive was temporarily closed to traffic as a result of the North Bay Police Service’s investigation, which included the assistance of an Ontario Provincial Police Technical Traffic Collision Investigator.

The male driver of the motorcycle was transported to hospital with serious injuries. Both vehicles required towing.

Other reports suggest the male motorcyclist is now in Sudbury hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The investigation continues.

A man has been taken to hospital with undetermined injuries after a collision occurred between a motorcycle and a van near the intersection of Marshall and Lakeshore Drive near the Tim Horton’s entrance around 5 p.m. 

The accident slowed down traffic along lakeshore during rush hour.  

Witnesses say the motorcyclist was taken way by ambulance, no word on the condition of the motorcyclist, whose bike was totaled in the crash.
