For the second year in a row, fat bike enthusiasts will be able to go for a ride for a good cause.
The second annual Ride For Jack will take place on Saturday, March 2 at the Boat Launch located at 1016 McPherson Drive in Corbeil.
Last year, Mark Lyons, Jack Lyons well-known father, connected with cycle enthusiasts Connie Hergott and Rod Bilz from the North Bay Mountain Bike Association in coordinating a new fundraising winter bike ride called, "Ride for Jack."
The event honours Mark's teenage son Jack, who passed away in April of 2022.
Last year, the inaugural event raised $12,500 in funds which went towards One Kids Place Autism Camps.
Lyons was amazed at how well-organized last year's event was.
"It is something I did last year with everybody and I can tell you it was the best-organized event, everybody had fun and people came up to me and said they thought of Jack today on the ride and it became a huge success in a second of how much everybody loved it and we have a lot of good things coming on that," recalls Lyons.

The bike has a special place in Mark's heart. That's because when his son Jack was a child, a physician told the family young Jack would never be able to ride a bike due to his challenges. Jack proved that doctor wrong.
Mark says Jack loved when he could ride on his fat bike, which makes this event so special for the Lyons family.
"We can get on the lake and there are no cars and a whole character came out when Jack was on his fat boy bike," Lyons reflects.
"He was happy and giggling and of course would try to get ahead of me and I would have to catch him. It was a very big win for us when that boy was on his fat bike."
Lyons says organizers will have three different riding routes for riders to take on the Stepping Stones Trails.
The event will be capped at 100 riders. To sign up you can go to the North Bay Mountain Bike Association Facebook page HERE
The cost is $30 per entry.
"I am really excited about the Ride for Jack we are going to help some special needs kids and that is paramount for us," said Lyons.
