The milder temperatures are again putting a damper on the snowmobile season.

On January 25, the North Bay Snowmobile Club announced that trails have opened - mostly under yellow caution conditions.

However, just four days later the Club has announced those newly opened trails in the area are now closed.

"Trails across our region have closed due to mild weather and no snow," stated Shawn Flindall,  Director, Marketing and Public Relations for the North Bay Snowmobile Club.

"Trails are unsafe and will not be re-opening until we get more snowfall."

Flindall notes those mild conditions make travel on waterways very risky.

"We ask all snowmobilers to stay off all trails and all area lakes," he stated.

"We hope to see cold and snow in the coming days and weeks so that we can resume our grooming activities."
