A fifth person jumped into the mayor's race today.
Mike Guillemette was born and raised in Northern Ontario and has lived and worked in North Bay and area for over 20 years.
"I have heard, seen, and experienced the challenges that North Bay has faced and those that it will be facing in the coming years. As the father of two young boys, I understand and value the importance of community and contribution," he says in a news release.
"I have held various committee member positions and have been elected onto several local boards including chair positions. Throughout my professional and personal life, I have accumulated a great amount of knowledge, experience, and wisdom.
"I have earned diplomas in both Municipal Administration & Assessment, and Urban Land Economics, with a concentration on Real Estate Assessment and Taxation, and a certificate in Municipal Law/Council and Administration. My work experiences have encompassed both large and small organizations in the public and private sectors, and I currently operate my own consulting business.
"These opportunities have further developed my abilities to communicate, coordinate, cooperate, and collaborate with team members and stakeholders to achieve the collective and desired goals. I am extremely eager to meet with our political and business leaders, city managers, and my neighbours in North Bay to develop a clear and comprehensive direction for our community. My efforts will be thoughtful and purposeful and will result in positive and sustainable change."
