Man dies in accident

(Trout Creek)
An accident Sunday on Highway 522 west of Trout Creek has left a 53-year-old Sundridge man dead.

William Henry Smith was driving his 1997 Chevrolet pick-up truck east bound on the highway around 7 p.m. when he approached a curve in the road.

The truck crossed the centre line and went into a ditch where it hit a tree. Powassan Ontario Provincial Police and the Powassan Fire Department responded to the call and extricated Smith from the vehicle. He was take to North Bay General hospital and died there.

A post-mortem examination will be conducted today to determine the cause of death.

Police are continuing their investigation.
