The District of Nipissing Social Services Administration Board (DNSSAB) says the transition of paramedic services under its umbrella is now complete.

It means nearly 100 primary and advanced care paramedics will now be part of the DNSSAB organization.

"This DNSSAB Board’s decision to move Paramedic Services from a third-party contracted model to a direct delivery model, mirroring most of Ontario’s Emergency Services, came in late 2021 following a detailed analysis of existing programs," says a news release. "In July of this year, the leadership team was put in place with Stephen Kirk named the new Chief of Paramedic Services."

The Deputy Chiefs are Stephen Asselin and Dan Raymond. Commander Bryce Gartner will continue in his role overseeing the Community Paramedicine program.

Superintendents are Franco Tignanelli, Mark Beaulieu, Maxine Samson, and Andrew Pugliese.

The release says staff have worked closely with the contracted service providers, labour unions, Ministry of Health and Paramedics from all three services.

“This has been a huge undertaking and DNSSAB is very pleased the process is now complete," says DNSSAB CAO, Catherine Matheson
