The announcement Friday that we are moving back into the Provincial framework for COVID 19 means Laurentian Ski Hill will be opening Tuesday.
“It’s been a long haul,” said John Strang, Chair of the Laurentian Ski Hill board. “We’ve been grooming the hills and maintaining equipment all winter long and we are in great shape and looking forward to seeing people enjoying the facilities.”
The province ordered all downhill facilities in Ontario closed last year and Laurentian continued to be closed during the stay-at-home order locally.
The Hill will be open Tuesday for season pass holders only and beginning Wednesday to the general public.
Office staff will be available Monday, March 8 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. for those who would like to pick up season passes at the ticket window.
Laurentian Ski Hill General Manager, Mike King said, “Weather conditions can impact our hours but at this moment we are running the next two weeks with the stated hours.”
The lower lodge, Laurentian Cafe will also be open during operating hours with limited seating capacity as determined by the framework.
“We can’t wait to see people enjoying the hill,” Said King “This has been a challenging year in which we have had continuing expenses for regular overhead, human resources, insurance, and so on, without any assistance. We truly appreciate all our supporters and their patience and understanding.”
