A collision between a school bus and a transport on Highway 69 sent eight people to hospital this morning.
Nipissing West OPP say the accident happened just before 8:30 a.m. in the northbound lane of Highway 69, Sudbury.
The driver and 12 students were on the bus at the time and eight people were taken to the local hospital by EMS.
Five students were examined as a precaution, two students received serious, but non-life-threatening injuries, while the bus driver received serious life-threatening injuries.
There were no reported injuries to the other students or the driver of the transport.
Police say the investigation is still ongoing on Highway 69 which will remain closed in both directions as the OPP Collision Reconstructionist and members of the Traffic Collision Investigation Team assist the Nipissing West OPP officers to determine the cause of the collision.
