In its second year, Keeping Seniors Warm will be accepting 21 participants, referred through partner agencies, to take part in the shopping event. Each participant is paired up with a volunteer to purchase winter necessities such as a winter coat, boots, accessories, and any items that will help keep the participants warm and safe over the cold winter months.

“There are many older adults in our community who can’t afford proper winter gear, leaving them vulnerable to isolation, illness, and more,” says Tamika Daniels Nipissing Community Engagement Coordinator for United Way.“Keeping Seniors Warm is a way we can help!”

Keeping Seniors Warm is made possible thanks to United Way’s generous donors and the support of community agencies and businesses. Anyone interested in supporting older adults in North Bay is encouraged to donate at www.keepingseniorswarm.ca.
