Jerry O'Connell definitely left an impression.

North Bay voted, and the star of the series Carter was the overwhelming favourite in a poll in which BayToday asked readers who their favourite movie star who worked in North Bay was.

Out of a poll of a shortlist of eight, O'Connell captured 230 votes good for 42 per cent of the vote.

In 2017, Jerry O'Connell was given a key to the City of North Bay for all his interaction in the North Bay area, including singing the national anthem at a North Bay Battalion game and even appearing as a guest referee at a local wrestling event

We looked back in our BayToday archives and tried to come up with our shortlist (in no special order) of memorable and well-known actors who have called North Bay home while involved in film production.

1. Jerry O'Connell - Carter

2. Beau Bridges - Christmas in Angel Falls

3. Brooke Shields Mum's the Word

4. Bryan Cranston - Everything's Going to Be Great

5. Naomi Watts - Desperate Hour

6. Julia Stiles - The Lake

7. James Brolin - Christmas with Tucker

8. Danica McKellar - Royal Christmas Ball

Our readers also shared some of their favourites who were not included on our shortlist.

They included Laurence Fishburne and Bill Paxton who spent time in the decommissioned NORAD underground complex in 2012 for the filming of The Colony

In 2015, Danny Trejo was in the area as part of the film Frat Pack.

In 2010, Scott Thompson, who is originally from North Bay, was part of the Kids in the Hall mini series, Death comes to Town. Of note, our editor Jeff Turl was an extra in that production.

And way back in 1941, James Cagney visited North Bay as part of the production of the film Captains of the Clouds.
