Impaired charges laid in snowmobile accident

Investigation revealed that the snowmobile left the trail. The driver sustained serious injuries and was brought to hospital

OPP have laid charges after a snowmobile accident in Nipissing Township last winter.

On February 16 at 8:30 p.m., North Bay OPP were called to a single-vehicle accident involving a snowmobile on Culham Road.

Investigation revealed that the snowmobile left the trail. The driver sustained serious injuries and was brought to hospital.

As a result of the police investigation, Jason Culham, 35, of Nipissing Township, is charged with:

  • Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired - Bbood alcohol concentration (80 Plus)
  • Dangerous operation

Culham was released on an undertaking. 

This incident marks 26 drivers charged under the criminal impaired driving laws by the North Bay OPP Detachment in 2020.
