The North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit says it has appointment space available for those eligible for their COVID-19 vaccinations.
Eligible priority groups include:
- Indigenous adults 18+ who do not live in a First Nations community
- Very high/High priority Health Care Workers
- Individuals born in or before 1961
- Adult recipients of chronic home care
- Special education workers
- Individuals with the highest risk chronic conditions
- Essential caregivers for individuals with the highest risk chronic conditions
And, people who live in high-risk congregate settings:
- Community Living group homes
- Emergency shelters for people experiencing homelessness
- Adult correctional facilities
The Health Unit says now is the time to book as there is appointment space open. Call the Health Unit’s call centre today at 1-800-563-2808. The call centre is open until 8 p.m. Tuesday.

Planning is underway for the next priority groups in Phase 2 of the vaccine rollout:
- People who live and work in other high-risk congregate settings
- Caregivers in select congregate care settings
- Essential frontline workers who cannot work from home
- Individuals with high-risk chronic conditions
- Essential caregivers for individuals with high-risk chronic conditions
- Communities at greater risk
Phase 3 to come:
- Remaining Ontarians over 16 who wish to be vaccinated
The following groups received their first and second doses in Phase 1 of the vaccine rollout:
- Long-Term Care home residents
- High-risk retirement home residents
- First Nations Elder Care individuals
- Seniors in retirement home/congregate care settings
The following have received their first doses:
- Long-Term Care home staff and essential caregivers
- High-risk retirement home staff and essential caregivers
- First Nations Elder Care staff
- Highest priority health care workers
- Indigenous adults in high-risk communities
- Individuals 18+ who live in a First Nations community
- Retirement home/Congregate care staff and essential caregivers
