The North Bay Regional Health Centre Foundation (NBHCF) along with the Ringler family celebrated the completion and opening of the newly renovated Chat4Chad Therapeutic Lounge for patients of the Acute Inpatient Psychiatry Unit (AIPU).
Officials say this welcoming space was re-imagined and renovated to be transformed into a healing, comfortable space for those receiving care, honouring Chad Ringler's legacy.
The lounge stands as a testament to Chat4Chad’s dedication to providing resources and raising awareness for mental health.
“Right away we felt this was somewhere we could make a difference," said Wade Ringler, Chad's brother who has been the spokesperson for the organization.
"Chat4Chad is excited and proud to be able to create a space that is comfortable, warm, and inviting for the patients, so they can focus on their recovery. It was important that we help people get to a place where they feel happy again and hopeful.”
The NBRHCF is profoundly grateful to Chat4Chad for their continued support of NBRHC’s mental health programs and initiatives.
"Since its launch, Chat4Chad has played a crucial role in enhancing patient experiences by adapting care spaces, providing essential items such as warm clothing during winter, access to technology, and supporting physical and mental wellness activities," organizers stated in a release.
The unveiling of the Chat4Chad Therapeutic Lounge highlights the community support for Chat4Chad and recognizes more than $250,000 in funding for various projects and initiatives that are having a direct impact on patients accessing mental health services at NBRHC.
Tammy Morison, President and CEO of the Foundation shared, “We are truly humbled to be a part of the groundswell of support for the Ringler Family and mental health care for our community. Chat4Chad is raising awareness, breaking down stigma and providing critical resources supporting the healing journey for countless patients.”
