Northern Ontario Party Leader Trevor Holliday is demanding that Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne resign.
In a news release, Holliday says Wynne has been destroying Northern Ontario saying it's about time she accepts responsibility for hydro rates getting out of hand.
"Delivery costs climbing over $150. The only rebate was a joke at $36. Therefore she has been causing undue hardship and financial stress on Northern Ontarians. With the cold and snow upon us more Northerners are feeling the crunch with overpriced utilities and are forced to choose heat or food," Holliday said.
He is referring to the Premier's comments on Friday, when Wynne called high electricity prices her ‘mistake’.
“People have told me that they’ve had to choose between paying the electricity bill and buying food or paying rent,” Wynne said.
