Highway 17 closed due to accident (UPDATED)

UPDATE: Highway 17 was re-opened around 2 a.m. Police have located the silver vehicle involved in the accident and the driver has been arrested.

Highway 17 near Highway 17 B just west of North Bay is closed in both directions due to a collision. 

OPP stated the news via Twitter at about 9 p.m. tonight.  

"Highway 17 is expected to be closed for several hours while OPP conduct the investigation," the OPP North East region stated on social media tonight.

No word on how many vehicles were involved in the crash or if anyone was injured. 

However, the OPP have noted that they are looking for a silver vehicle with possible damage to the front passenger side and missing a mirror.   

OPP say the only detour is Highway 64 (near Verner) and Highway 11 North (near Marten River), and vice versa.
