A serious two vehicle collision on Highway 17, east of Mattawa (Nipissing/Renfrew Twp Boundary) has closed the highway in both directions.
The accident happened just after noon today. North Bay OPP, the Mattawa Fire Department and District of Nipissing Paramedic Services are responding.
The OPP Traffic Incident Management Enforcement team is also attending to assist.
The investigation is in the preliminary stages and more information will be provided when it is available.
Highway 17 will be closed in Mattawa until further notice.

In addition, a second accident around 4:30 closed Highway 17 to the east of the initial accident.
