Ontario Provincial Police have solved at least eight break and enters, they say, with the arrest of three people.

Powassan OPP recovered nine long guns and several stolen items from at least eight break and enters in the Port Loring, Powassan and Trout Creek area within the last month.
On Thursday Aug. 19, Powassan OPP initially received a report of a break and enter to a residence on the 522 Highway in Trout Creek.
From there, seven other break and enters were reported. On Sat. Aug. 28, police were on route to one of the reported break and enters on the East Road, Port Loring, and received a report of a motor vehicle collision on the East Road and Lover’s Lane involving a green Chevrolet pick-up truck.
The investigation revealed that the two occupants of the vehicle were responsible for the rash of break and enters and recovered two long guns stolen from a previously reported one.
Police conducted a lengthy investigation and recovered seven more long guns and several items such as clothing, electronic items including a computer, and many household effects. A third suspect was also identified in the course of the police investigation.
Police still have the recovered property and officers are continuing there investigation as to who the owners are. Several of the long guns recovered were found to be unregistered and were improperly stored.
Mathew Chevrier, 21, of Port Loring, has been charged with:
1) Six counts of Break and Enter, Section 348(1)(b) of the Criminal Code of Canada;
2) Three counts of Theft from Motor Vehicles Under $5,000.00, Section 334 of the Criminal Code of Canada;
3) Possession of Property Obtained by Crime, Section 354(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada;
4) Careless Storage of a Firearm, Section 86(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada.
Chevrier will appear in court Oct. 5, at 10 a.m. at the Ontario Court of Justice, in North Bay.
Two young persons – who cannot be named under the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act have also been charged. One is charged with:
1) Two counts of Break and Enter, Section 348(1)(b) of the Criminal Code of Canada;
2) Two counts of Breach of Probation, Section 733.1(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada;
3) Two counts of Breach of Recognizance, Section 811 of the Criminal Code of Canada.
The other is charged with:
1) Six counts of Break and Enter, Section 348(1)(b) of the Criminal Code of Canada;
2) Possession of Property Obtained by Crime, Section 354(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada;
3) Dangerous Use of a Firearm, Section 86(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada;
4) Assault Police, Section 270(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada;
5) Three counts of Theft from Motor Vehicles Under $5,000.00, Section 334 of the Criminal Code of Canada;
6) Mischief Under $5,000.00, Section 430(4) of the Criminal Code of Canada.
Both young persons will appear in court later this month and in October at the Ontario Court of Justice in North Bay.
