An American man has been charged by Ontario Provincial Police following a three-motor vehicle collision Thursday on Hwy 17 at Beaucage Park Road.
The accident took place just after 2 p.m. and sent two persons to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Theresa Poulin, 56, of North Bay, was driving her black 1988 Ford Ranger Pick-up and turning left on to Beaucage Park Road from Hwy 17.
Claude Pelletier, 57, of Chelmsford, was driving west bound on Highway 17 in a 2003 Lincoln Continental and slowing down behind Poulin’s vehicle.
Grandville Shook, 51, of Elk Lake, Maine, driving a 1996 Ford F150 and towing a large trailer west bound on Highway 17, skidded into the rear of Pelletier’s Lincoln, which collided into the rear of Poulin’s truck.
Traffic was stopped and a portion of Highway 17 was blocked for approximately 90 minutes to clear the wreckage and complete the police investigation.
Poulin and Pelletier's 56-year-old wife Colette were sent to North Bay General Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Shook has been charged with following too closely, Section 158(1) of the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario.
