John MacIsaac had the best intentions but now he is left disappointed.

The North Bay man who lives on a fixed income decided to set up a cooling station for dogs at his residence in the Carruthers complex near the Chippewa walkway earlier this week.

However, MacIsaac says he won’t be setting it up any longer.

That’s because when he woke up on Wednesday morning he found his water tub vandalized and his shepherd’s pole, which held up his cooling station sign, had been stolen.

“I'm just bothered that I use the things I have to help others only to have it stolen,” MacIsaac told BayToday.

“As a person with Crohns disease on welfare, I cannot afford to have my good nature be a cost on top of the efforts I make.”

MacIsaac says prior to the vandalism, he had been getting tremendous feedback about his neighbourhood good deed which was spoiled by vandals.
