Osprey Links General Manager and Club Pro Jeff Rogerson was ready to close up shop this week.

However, incredible weather that includes highs around 20 degrees today has forced Rogerson to change his voicemail tune and keep things going.

“Our plan was to close the doors officially on Sunday and that would be the end,” said Rogerson on Wednesday afternoon.

“We had even put on the answering machine on Monday that we were closed for the season and then the forecast just kept getting better, and better and better so we re-engaged the staff and everyone is there and we are flying,”

Rogerson says golf this late in the year isn’t unheard of but it certainly isn’t typical.

“The last couple of years it has been tough to get to October 31st because the falls have been so wet and cold,” he said.

While this late season golf traffic is great, he’s not expecting anything past the weekend.

“Today is fantastic tomorrow and the weekend its supposed to cool down and turn a little wet so I do have staff planning to head into the shop on Friday, how long they stay will be determined by the weather,” he said.

Which means after this weekend the next round of golf for most enthusiasts will likely be in Florida.
