The latest payment from the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation to the City of North Bay for hosting Cascades Casino for the period covering Oct. 1, 2024 – Dec. 31, 2024 totals $419,781.

So far, during OLG’s fiscal year (April 1, 2024 – March 31, 2025), North Bay has received $1,297,457.  Since the gaming site opened in March 2022, North Bay has received $4,406,207.

These payments to host communities are based on a formula consistently applied across all gaming sites in Ontario using a graduated scale of gaming revenue at the hosted site. OLG shares proceeds from casino gaming with local communities, and 100 per cent of OLG’s profits are reinvested in the province.

“OLG’s Municipality Contribution Agreement payments help pave the way for North Bay to build critical infrastructure and fund important programs that make a real difference for residents,” said Nipissing MPP Vic Fedeli. “Cascades Casino North Bay supports numerous jobs and generates a great deal of economic activity that, in turn, improves the well-being of our local community.”

Since 1994, host communities have received more than $2.2 billion in non-tax gaming revenue.

OLG is proud to share proceeds of casino gaming with local communities, contributing to economic development including infrastructure and job creation. Payments to host communities are part of OLG’s commitment to Ontario, which includes reinvesting 100 per cent of OLG’s profits back into the province.

Over the past eight years, service providers have invested more than $2.5 billion in private sector capital investment across the province. These investments have led to the development and opening of seven new casinos, one large-scale resort development, numerous gaming floor expansions and new non-gaming amenities.
