Gateway Casinos and Entertainment has announced that it will be reopening its casinos across the province, which were closed due to a cyber security incident, incrementally over the next few days.
Gateway Casino officials announced in a media release that its Innisfil location will be reopening at 1 p.m. today with the other 14 properties to follow incrementally.
“While this has been an unfortunate incident,” the release read. “We will continue to work with our third-party experts to determine the impacts to personal information, if any, and will keep you updated as we resolve this cyber incident.”
"Our utmost concern remains the protection of personal information," said a company release. "While we have no evidence thus far that the personal information of our customers or employees has been impacted, we have experienced a ransomware attack on our IT systems. Unfortunately, cybercriminals often attempt to compromise personal information. We are continuing to work with third-party experts on a 24/7 basis to determine if there has been any impact on personal information in this case. We want to reiterate that we have notified the relevant privacy officials, law enforcement, and government regulators about the cyber incident."
Ticket holders at Casino Rama Resort are advised that concerts will proceed as planned.
It is currently unknown when the North Bay location will be opened, but a Company official said that it can be expected to open soon as the company works its way out from Innisfil to its 14 other locations.
Cascades Casino North Bay features over 270 slot machines and six live table games. It is also home to Gateway’s signature restaurant brand, MATCH Eatery & Public House at 300 Pinewood Park Dr.
