Gas prices break a buck, but...

In Barrie for example, the average price is 81.3 and Toronto 83.9

Gas prices in North Bay have dropped below a buck for the first time in over a year. Jeff Turl/BayToday.

Gas prices in the North Bay area are looking good...if you don't compare to other areas of Ontario.

The price for a litre of regular gas has dropped below a dollar at most stations.

GasBuddy says locally the lowest is the Eagle's Nest on Highway 17 West at 92.7.

In town, the lowest price is Mr. Gas on Highway 17 East at 98.6.

However when you compare that to other Ontario cities, we are vastly overpaying.

In Barrie for example, the average price is 81.3 and Toronto 83.9.

The Costco in Barrie is selling at 71.9.

Hagersville, south of Hamilton is Ontario's sweet spot at just 66.9 per litre. The Ontario average is 88.1.
