Reconstruction of the parking lot at Memorial Gardens is now underway.
If you've attended a Battalion (or Centennial) game you know how crazy parking can be.
To help address the traffic flow and drainage issues of the current lots, the City will be connecting the two gravel lots to create one large parking lot in the area between Chippewa Street and Rollie Fischer Field.
The construction provides more parking and increases the efficient use of the space says a City news release.
The project will include clearing and grubbing of existing vegetation, placing of granular material, grading and installation of a catch basin and storm pipe for the zamboni snow dump.
For the duration of construction the public is asked to continue to use the main Memorial Gardens entrance or the entrance closest to the YMCA.
The project is anticipated to be complete by the end of August 2016.
