Update 11:45 a.m., the freezing rain warning has ended.

Freezing rain is expected today. Ice accretion up to a few millimetres is possible on untreated surfaces starting this morning into this afternoon.

It will transition to snow or rain throughout the day. Periods of snow or ice pellets mixed with freezing rain with local snow and ice pellet amount 2 cm. Wind up to 15 km/h. High zero.

Periods of snow with the risk of freezing drizzle may persist into tonight.

A freezing rain warning is in effect for:

  • North Bay - Powassan - Mattawa
  • South River - Burk's Falls
  • Huntsville - Baysville, 
  • West Nipissing - French River
  • Greater Sudbury and vicinity
  • Bayfield Inlet - Dunchurch
  • Bracebridge - Gravenhurst
  • Port Carling - Port Severn
  • Town of Parry Sound - Rosseau - Killbear Park

Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery. Slow down driving in slippery conditions. Watch for taillights ahead and maintain a safe following distance.
