All three fire stations responded to a fire call at the New Fricker School on the corner of Mckee and Norman in the North end of North Bay.

Greg Saunders, deputy fire chief, says the call came in around 8:30 p.m.

"Firefighters were on the scene in four minutes and reported that flames were visible within the building," said Saunders in an email.

"Firefighters entered the school and found a temporary plywood structure that was being used as a temporary bathroom on fire."

Saunders says firefighters very quickly extinguished the fire and completed a search of the facility to ensure that there were no victims in the school.

Saunders adds that the cause of the fire is not suspicious and there is no damage estimate at this time.
