The West Nipissing Fire Service was called out to a fire this morning in Sturgeon Falls. The blaze was within a multi-unit residential building on William Street.
Residents posted on social media, describing thick black smoke rising from the structure. Witnesses to the fire mention all residents were evacuated, although that has yet to be confirmed by the department.
The power was shut off in the area as the firefighters worked to extinguish the flames, and the outage also affects some Arthur Street residents.
As of now, there is no word on what caused the fire, or the extent of the damage. BayToday will follow the story.
