A motorist has been charged after neighbourhood complaints of an excessively loud vehicle in Sturgeon Falls.
This time it was very early on Sunday morning, 1:55, say police.
Nipissing West OPP officers conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle that was "excessively noisy" on Highway 17, in West Nipissing.
"Police have received previous complaints regarding a vehicle traveling in the area, every evening with a loud muffler," says Constable Robert Lewis.
As a result of the investigation, a 23-year-old from West Nipissing is charged with "Improper muffler - motor vehicle."
The Highway Traffic Act states that "every motor vehicle or motor assisted bicycle shall be equipped with a muffler in good working order and in constant operation to prevent excessive or unusual noise and excessive smoke, and no person shall use a muffler cut-out, straight exhaust, gutted muffler, hollywood muffler, by-pass or similar device."
The driver was issued a Part I Provincial Offence, which carries a total fine of $110.
