Environment Canada has issued a heat warning for the North Bay-West Nipissing region.

"Daytime highs are expected to be near 29 degrees Celsius with humidex values of 34 to 36. There will be little relief at night as minimum temperatures of 18 degrees celsius are expected," the heat warning stated.

"These hot conditions may persist into Monday. A reminder that extreme heat can affect everyone’s health," the Environment Canada release continued.

Drink plenty of water regularly, even before you feel thirsty to decrease your risk of dehydration. Thirst is not a good indicator of dehydration.

Environment Canada states that you should schedule outdoor activities during the coolest parts of the day to reduce your heat risk.

Never leave people, particularly children, or pets inside a parked vehicle.
