Drugs and trafficking equipment found after police stop vehicle

The driver was found to be under license suspension and as part of a search, police found drugs and trafficking equipment

The North Bay Police Service arrested and charged a 26-year-old woman and a 39-year-old man for drug trafficking after a traffic stop on August 17.

At 9:30 a.m. officers stopped a vehicle travelling in the 300-block of Lakeshore Drive.

The driver was found to be under license suspension and as part of a search, police found drugs and trafficking equipment. Both occupants were arrested and charged.

Searches resulted in the seizure of:

  • 35 grams of Fentanyl
  • Four hydromorphone pills
  • Drug trafficking equipment

The estimated street value of the drugs seized is $7,000.

Zoe Edenbrook Gates-Healey, 26, of North Bay, is charged with:

  • Two counts of possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking
  • Two counts of driving while under suspension

Andrew Reginald Theriault. 39, of Timmins, is charged with:

  • Two counts of possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking
  • Failure to comply with a release order

The two were held in custody pending a bail hearing at the North Bay Courthouse.
