Drugs and prohibited weapon seized in raid

A drug raid on a downtown apartment building netted drugs, cash, and a knife Saturday.

City police executed a search warrant at a residential unit located in the apartment building on Main Street East.

Officers with the North Bay Police Service’s Street Crime Unit arrested and charged the male tenant:

Leslie Robert Zielinski, age 45 with:

  • one count of possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking;
  • one count of possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000;
  • one count of possession of cocaine;
  • one count of possession of morphine; and
  • one count of possession of a prohibited weapons.

While executing the search warrant, police also arrested, searched and charged a 37-year old North Bay man for possession of three methamphetamine pills, which police seized as evidence.

As a result of the search of the apartment and of Zielinski, police seized:

  • 60 Methamphetamine tablets;
  • Three Hydromorph Contin tablets;
  • Under a gram of cocaine;
  • $540 in Canadian currency; and
  • a knife.

Both accused were released from custody with court appearances scheduled for October 18th.
