Dropped plastic baggie leads to drug trafficking charges

A man who dropped a baggie of drugs in front of police officers is now facing charges.

North Bay police say that during an interaction with a man on the afternoon of January 6 near the intersection of First Avenue and John Street, a man dropped a plastic baggie containing 26.2 grams of suspected Fentanyl with an estimated street value of $15,720.

Dan Kisimba, 25, of Longueuil Quebec is charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking in a controlled substance.

Kisimba was subsequently released from custody following a bail hearing with acourt date of February 23.
